Molong & Wellington. Junkyards and weird graff

A great day was spent travelling along back country roads from Milthorpe to Dubbo, stopping at Molong and Wellington. This would have to be one of the best of all the seldom hit pockets of Australia. Great concrete, top notch little bakeries and country pubs where everyone is up for a chat.

Molong is a classic bowl with fast lines and perfectly set coping.

It has a rad little chill section to warm up on.

I couldn’t drive past here without stopping.

In this sea of discarded metal objects there were some diamonds in the rough. It makes you dream of finding a project to spend hours upon hours with in an old shed.

Wellington was a rough little town with a heavy clover. It took well over an hour to clean so I made sure I got some before it was time to hit the road.

The kids section was really fun.

The local Aboriginal health service took it upon themselves to get some messages graffed. It was pretty weird.

Milthorpe

This has been a hell of a year. I have felt like a caged animal, constricted and under immense pressure. There was misplaced guilt to purge and emotions I have not experienced to process.

The way I feel free and at peace is to hit the road with my skateboard. Driving itself is meditative. I always seek out the twisty old back roads over the boring freeways. All I wanted was solitude and the open road.

Rather than bombard with 100’s of photos I thought it best to break up the trip a bit.

Milthorpe is a historic little food and wine town of less than a 1000 people. It has my new favourite park. It is a rad bowl with a cradle that served me up good and proper. It has a pump track around the platform that has bumps, noping tranny, hips, hubbas and a proper jersey.

A few images from my stay.

An afternoon with Nick Bright

I thought it might be good to show the casual destruction that occurs on just a regular session with Nick. All these photos were in a few tries at most. No fuss, no showboating or testers….just throwing down. Meadow Heights bowl and then Fawner
